APSI Global Hub Network

This network enables APSI to anticipate integrate multidisciplinary insights, and cultivate collaborative solutions across continents and domains.  Currently, there are five hub networks:

1. Europe-Asia Forum Hub

Asia–Pacific provides the most advanced laboratory for studying escalation, hybrid conflict, and multi-theatre crisis dynamics that directly affect European strategic planning.  How does studying Asia–Pacific improve Europe’s understanding, tools, or strategic capacity? APSI Europe-Asia Forum Hub serves as APSI's premier strategic dialogue platform bridging Europe and Asia

Purpose and focus:

  • Explores how today's contested frontlines in Europe connects to tomorrow's frontlines in  Asia (Taiwan Strait, South China Sea, Korean Peninsula, Indian Ocean)

  • Develops and validates scenario-based stress-testing and decision-support methodologies for European institutions, using Asia–Pacific and other high-risk regions as empirical laboratories to analyse escalation and miscalculation in multi-theatre crises.

  • Designs and validates scenario-driven decision-support frameworks to reduce miscalculation risks in multi-theatre crises for European policy and defence institutions.

    Key functions:

  • High level roundtables and policy dialogues

  • Tailored foresight insights and stress test frameworks for sponsors, partners, and institutions that require early warning and scenario planning

Address: 14 Grand-Bigard str., 1082 Brussels, Belgium

2.Sea and Air Strategic Hub
Purpose and focus:

  •  Anchors APSI's Indo-Pacific forum with a focus on maritime and aerial security strategy

  • Engages policy makers, diplomats, and military leaders in forum discussions

  • Assists alliance planners and defence decision-makers avoid catastrophic miscalculation in air and maritime domains during Northeast Asia crises by stress-testing Air–Sea escalation scenarios within 60–90 days.

  • Assists defence and maritime security leaders avoid uncontrolled air–sea escalation in Northeast Asia by testing crisis response options in contested waters and airspace within one planning cycle.

  • Assists alliance decision-makers avoid cascading air–sea escalation between a Taiwan Strait crisis and the Korean Peninsula by running joint Air–Sea scenario stress tests within 90 days.

  • Assist in air–sea escalation scenarios: Taiwan contingencies; SLOC disruptions; Grey-zone naval coercion

Key functions:

  • Engages with regional and international defense and government

  • Delivers tailored foresight insights and stress test framework for sponsors, partners, and institutions that require early warning and scenario planning

  1. STEM Futures & Resilience Forum
    Purpose and focus:

  • Develops and tests STEM-based tools and multi domain threat simulations to help allied institutions enhance operational readiness and decision making under complex scenarios

  • Explores how smaller nations and organisations adapt and remain resilient alongside major powers

  • Examines potential pressure points across key regions, including Northern Europe, East Asia, and the Indo-Pacific

Key functions:

  • Hosts high-level roundtables and policy dialogues bringing together researchers, technologists, policymakers, and innovators

  • Acts as a bridge between STEM-driven innovation and strategic foresight, translating research into practical, decision-ready insights

  • Delivers tailored foresight insights and stress test framework for sponsors, partners, and institutions that require early warning and scenario planning

Address: Juhkentali 8, Tallinn

4.Strategic Crossroads Forum Hub

Purpose and focus:

  • To explore the evolving dynamics of power, conflict, and cooperation in the Middle East , where global rivalries, energy transitions, and new security architectures intersect.

  • The hub bridges strategic foresight and scenario analysis on regional defence, diplomacy, and technological transformation , connecting Middle Eastern developments to Asia, Europe, and Africa.

    Key functions:

  • Convenes high level level roundtables and policy dialogues

  • Delivers tailored foresight insights and stress test for sponsors, partners, and institutions that require early warning and scenario planning

    5. APSI virtual embassy: The home of YsPro (Young Strategic Professionals)

    Purpose  and focus:

    • The embassy is a gateway between emerging strategic talent, and established power.

    • Develops and delivers scenario based stress testing tools while providing in-house training for the YsPro

    • It trains and deploys the next generation of strategic future thinkers in dialogue with today's decision makers

    • In order to pass the SCTP (Strategic Collective Training Programme) and Collaborative Collective Training Programme), the YsPros have to pass four stages: 1) Competence in writing, analysis, geopolitics, and able to think in scenarios, not opinions  2) Confidentiality awareness, responsible speech, and ability to operate in Track-2 environment 3) Pressure and performance that are tested in crisis simulations, red team/blue team exercises, and time constrained policy drafting 4) Professional growth and conduct such as reliability, integrity, respect for hierarchy, cultural and diplomatic sensitivity.

      Key functions:

    • Rigorous vetting and selection of YsPro

    • Continuous assessments through simulations and strategic tasks

    • Delivers tailored foresight insights and stress test for sponsors, partners, and institutions that require early warning and scenario planning
